Training Description
The weekend will include a mindset lecture, risk mitigation, Stop the Bleed and basic pistol with range work, marksmanship and weapons handling.
Schedule:
Friday, 4/26
Arrive at the campground. Joe and Kait will host a welcome gathering and dinner for all attendees and Jeff will be in attendance as well. This will give everyone a chance to meet and mingle. Dinner will be hosted by Storyteller Overland.
Saturday, 4/27
Class 9:30am - 4:30pm
- Check in and orientation
- Discussion of what a safety mindset is and how to develop it along with risk mitigation techniques when on the road and camping, along with personal protection discussions.
- The handgun training will include the fundamentals of pistol shooting with discussions and demonstration of stance, grip, presentation, sight alignment, sight picture, trigger control, and follow-through. Introduction into mindset and range work instilling each principle of marksmanship and weapons handling is covered. The student will understand how the combat triad (marksmanship, weapons handling, mindset) relies on each other to resolve a lethal force encounter.
The day will end around 4:30pm
Sunday, 4/28
Class 9:30 - 4:30pm
Pick up where the previous day’s instruction left off with pistol work.
Mid-day we will all come back together and participate in Stop the Bleed which will help provide the ability to recognize life-threatening bleeding and intervene effectively. This block of training will be led by a career paramedic of 25+ years.
Requirements
Requirements for the Handgun Training:
Full-size, Reliable, Heavy-duty handgun. 9mm/.40/.45 calibers recommended. Revolver in .38 or above. Heavy duty belt, holster specific to your handgun, magazine carrier and three magazines or two speed loaders (revolver). 300 rounds of ammo.
Jeff will send out a final list of required gear with the registration. Please do not purchase anything before you are registered for the class and have the final list.

Training Dates: 4/27 & 4/28
Location: Private range in Culleoka, Tennessee
Cost: $500/person taking the class. Meals and camping are not included.
Instructor
Jeff Dooley will be teaching the handgun portion of the class and he is a retired law enforcement Sergeant with over 26 years of experience including S.W.A.T, K9 Unit and firearms training.
